Eco Ezee is helping the BBC’s DIY SOS programme take on its biggest project to date transforming a dilapidated youth centre for Children in Need.

The one-off charity special sees the DIY SOS team regenerating Norris Green Youth Centre in North Liverpool between 6 and 15 September 2011 in a project dubbed ‘The Big Build’.

Eco Ezee has supplied its sustainable, triple award winning paintbrushes, paint trays, paint kettles, roller frames and roller sleeves to the project helping the painters and decorators create a brilliant finish. The paint trays and kettles are ideal for the job, as they do not require any water to wash them out saving the team time every evening. (Not to mention saving precious water and not polluting the drains!)
Big Build 1
The centre, which is in one of the most deprived areas in Liverpool, is regarded as a beacon of hope in the local community with 50 children and young people attending every night, seven days a week.

It offers people the opportunity to broaden their horizons, develop skills and confidence and instil positive attitudes to help provide a path to further education, employment and active community citizenship. The centre has been credited with transforming many young lives over the years by steering them away from crime and anti-social behaviour.
Big Build 2
The building was originally an old boys club built 52 years ago and resembles two aircraft hangers placed next to each other.

Plumbers, joiners, carpenters, general builders, plasterers, gardeners, glazers, painters and decorators and floor restorers are all taking part in the work to rejuvenate the centre into a more modern facility.

Natalie Davies, Managing Director of Eco Ezee Ltd says, “We were delighted to be able to help with this project donating our sustainable paint sundries. The DIY SOS team have worked tirelessly with the support of many other workers to create a fantastic new centre, which will hugely benefit the community. It was great to see so many people coming together as a team to help others”

To see the full renovation please tune in to the DIY SOS Children in Need special on BBC1 at 9pm on Fri 11th November 2011.
